Knox Cross Country at Regionals

By Maxwell Rubesch | Oct 24, 2026 12:00 AM

The Knox High School cross country season came to a bittersweet close today at the New Prairie Regional. Seniors Jarin Allport, Harper Hazelton, Caleb Prescott, Taniela “Tawny” Redden, and Landon Schwader, who have run side by side since fifth grade, were on hand to cheer on Braden Kidder one last time. Kidder finished his career with a new personal course record of 18:00, nearly a minute and a half faster than his regional time a year ago. For a group that has spent years running together, it was a fitting way to hand off the baton. The girls’ season, unfortunately, ended before its time. After an outstanding time drop at last week’s Sectional in Rensselaer, Chloe Stamper had to scratch from competition. The news was a blow to team spirits, but the long-term outlook is bright. Stamper was recently named to MileSplit’s list of Most Improved Sophomore runners in Indiana, and she is poised to carry the torch for the Knox distance program in the seasons ahead. Amazing things wait in her future.
